The Importance of Mares in Holsteiner Breeding. The success of the Holsteiner breed is largely attributable to the high quality of the mares. Since 1885, every approved Holsteiner mare has been assigned a stamm number to record the ancestry of the mares and these numbers are passed on from mares through their daughters from one generation to the next.
Our LCR horses represent the very best Holsteiner bloodlines, rarely found in North America.
